Alexandra (Sasha) Johnson

Alexandra “Sasha” Johnson is Co-Founder and Managing Director of DoubleStar Venture Partners, an SF-based venture fund catalyzing sustainable innovations, and President of the Global Technology Symposium, a premier investor conference on global emerging markets held annually in Silicon Valley since 2003. Alexandra is a prominent Silicon Valley venture investor with 20 years of experience.

Alexandra’ experience includes: Managing Director of DFJ VTB Capital Aurora, a venture group specializing in investments in the developing world; Board member of multiple tech companies, including Grid Dynamics, VisionLabs, and Rolith; Top 20 Most influential men and women in Bay Area finance in 2015 (Worth); and an MBA from HAAS Business School, Berkeley.

Deborah Magid

Deborah Magid

Deborah Magid is Co-Founder of DoubleStar Venture Partners. She is based in Silicon Valley and brings insights from the venture community to entrepreneurs and founders around the world.  Deborah is now advising entrepreneurs and investors on how to bridge the startup and corporate worlds.  Deborah is a member of the Corporate Venture Advisory Board of the NVCA, an advisor to Mosaic Ventures in the mobility space and was Pitch Global’s CVC in Residence.  Deborah also mentors women around the world through US MAC’s Prospera Women.

Deborah’s relationships are global and extend into emerging geographies.  Deborah is a frequent spokesperson on topics of relevance to entrepreneurs and investors, including corporate venture and innovation, mergers and acquisitions, disruptions in various industries, climate, women in technology and trends in investing.  Deborah specifically tracks high growth technology areas such as artificial intelligence, data and analytics, cyber security, semi-conductors and quantum computing; as well as industry verticals, including financial services, healthcare, agriculture and more.

Previously, Deborah represented IBM’s high growth software and hardware businesses in the company’s IBM Ventures.  She was responsible for sharing insights about emerging markets, technologies, and business models with IBM senior executives and with venture firms and entrepreneurs around the world.   She is also a former board director and past Chair of Silicon Valley Forum, the emerging technology non-profit.

Steven Colby

Steven Colby JD, Ph.D

Dr. Steven Colby is a Venture Partner at DoubleStar Venture Partners and a partner at Rimon Law PC. As an attorney, CEO and CTO he has provided legal and/or strategic advice to startups for over 30 years. As an investor, he has invested in Artificial Intelligence, Medtech, E-commerce, Consumer Apps and Entertainment Tech.

Dr. Colby is responsible for legal and regulatory operations at DSVP. He also provides expertise in a broad range of technical fields.  Dr. Colby received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Physics from Indiana University and has Chemistry and Mathematics degrees from Oberlin College. Following a career as a CTO, Dr. Colby received his law degree from Santa Clara University.

Dr. Colby represents companies in a wide variety of technological areas including: e-commerce, artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, AR/VR, lasers/optics, medical devices, SaaS and consumer apps, virtual machines, semiconductor design and manufacture, cleantech, entertainment, drones, and more.
